Back in May 2004 a song from a small time Leeds band made a ripple in the charts. Just under a year later and the same song is looking to launch the band into the stratosphere. Oh My God back in 2004 was recorded in one of the band members flat, released by Drowned In Sound and was attached to an ace if primitive computer animated video. But a lot has changed for the Kaiser Chiefs recently and Leeds best kept secret is about to become the UK's new favourite band. Singed to b-unique and previous single "I Predict A Riot" reaching number 22 in the UK charts, the Chiefs have opted to release a re-mastered version of OMG for the masses to hear and aimed it straight at the top 10.

Basically the structure of the song is the same as before but everything just sounds... well... better. The guitar for example has a harder edge to the twangy sound of before. The song just sounds tighter in general thanks to the production skills of a certain Steven Street. It's as catchy as ever and only after one or two times of the song being exposed to your brain will you be singing "Oh My God, I Can't Believe It!" in the most inappropriate yet hilarious of places. It's also possibly the most fun song of the year so far. Guitar, Bass, keyboard and various harmonies from other members of the band mix beautifully for the calm verse before the entire cocktail is shaken up for the bombastic chorus. Oh, the b-sides are gold too.

This band is defiantly about to hit the big time. Various places have called them the new Franz but I disagree as the Kaiser Chiefs could possibly eclipse even them by the end of the year.
