Typoes and misdirections

I wonder whether either of the previous reviewers have actually attempted to make anything out of this book. The very first pattern I tried, (Hooded Baby Gown) is either full of typos or was written by someone who can not do math. You start out with a body of 127 stitches, and then they want you to divide it up into a left front of 33, skip 4, back of 67, skip 4 and right front of 33. Add it up. That's 141 stitches, which is 14 more than you started with. There's also a typo in the gauge section where it says that 22 rows should equal 24 inches, but that was easy to spot and obvious. In fact, it was such an obvious error that it really should have made me go through the rest of the pattern and make sure everything added up before I started. Alas. It did not. I would not recommend this book for a beginner. You have to be skilled enough to work around the logic and math errors if you want to be able to make something recognizable.

Errors in the patterns!!!!

For the amount of money I spent on this book, I ASSUMED that the patterns would be written with care and as long as I followed them I would have no problem creating the items. These are NOT easy patterns, but I have been crocheting for 8 years and I figured I would try some new techniques. I am just completely ticked off now since the baby gown that was 3/4 of the way done is now TRASH due to the pattern maker not counting their stitches out. I will be tossing this book in the trash. There are so many other cheaper and free quality patterns out there, don't waste your money on this one!

I agree with the other reviewers. There are errors in the pattern that I'm trying to make and calling upon 40 years of crochet experience to do so. This book is not for a beginner because the directions for some projects are either not correct or not complete.
