Through recent exploration with my ps2 i found that the rf unit from my old playstation is almost exactly the same as the new one sony are telling you to by if you don't have a tv with a scart socket. If you don't already know this don't buy one if you already own a playstation as you can use the old playstation rf unit. The 3 star rating was because it obviously will do its job i just don't understand why Sony didn't tell its customers this in the first place.

If, like mine, your TV was made sometime in the middle ages then you will need to buy an RF Unit. It's the same as the cable that came with the original PlayStation which you can use but if you want to sell your PSone then you will need one of these to replace it. I'm not sure about a score, I suppose it works...

After getting my PS2 home opened the box, shock horror! no R.F unit! a scart connector! no good to me im playing on a portable t.v. , why did sony not tell people we need to buy a RF unit?????..cheers sony, we all hav'nt got BIG T.V.'s with scart., cos i spent all my money on a PS2!

RF Problems with PS2
If you have trouble with the signal from your PS2 to your TV . .
Older TVs don't have an "auto scart-detect". Press the AV button on your remote, or ->AV button. Read more
