The HotDO Hand Cannon is by far the best add-on to the Wii I've bought. After the extreme disapointment of the Wii Zapper, with its awkward grip and reliance on a nunchuck in the handle, I was about ready to give up on good guns for the Wii.
The Hand Cannon is the most perfect arcade rail-shooter addon for ANY system i've had. Well balance grip means that the remote isn't overly top-heavy in your hand, sites for those important boss fights and perhaps the most important factor...real arcade action feel.
This is perfect for anyone who plays "the House of the Dead" games, but is also great with "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" "Ghost Squad" and is acually marginally better than the zapper on "link's crossbox training"

This gun is fantastic, it looks like a magnum revolver which is Very cool, and the handle has grip so it feels comfortable to hold. And i am also happy about the fact that the B button is not fire unlike the wii zapper, but insted it is a proper trigger which makes it seem more life-like
P.S to reload don't bother pushing the A button just shake the Gun it is alot easyer. thanks for reading!

Of all the gun shaped containers for the wii remote I have tried, this is definitely the best looking and possibly the most solidly built.
The trigger movement feels right.
The grip is firm and pleasant, with a groove in the back to allow for the nunchuck cord, should you use it. The gun itself does not house the nunchuck and you will have to hold it with the other hand.
Not that you will want to, because the only problem with this gun is that as big as it is, it is somewhat unbalanced with all of the weight of the remote falling in front of your hand, and you will probably wield it two handed.
This hardly improves accuracy, as the manufacturer claims.
It is not a real problem per se, but the tip will be shaking a little as you shoot, and if the game you're playing has any action mapped to the remote shaking motion you might be triggering it more often than you'd like to.
This is a real issue with the very game this gun was made for, House of the Dead Overkill, which has a too sensitive shaking reload action.
It is definitely the game's fault, not the gun's, as it manifests itself even with the bare remote, but this gun makes it worse.
I recommend this gun for many shooting games on the Wii, as it is a great product of its kind, but I suggest you don't use it with those games that implement motion sensing superficially.

OMG!!! This gun rocks. However, if you fancy playing co-op mode with your little lady, arthritic grandfolks or weaker little brother then bare in mind the reason why this gun feels so good to use in the 1st place i.e. the weight. Clocking in at an impressive 500g & with the Wii controller sited so far forward in the barrel then this Hand Cannon really does live upto it's name. So... if you need a lighter weapon then I can highly recommend theVenom Light Blaster Gun (Wii) at less than 200g & with the Wii controller mounted closer to the handle it's a more compact & well balanced weapon of choice. Also the design is based on James Bonds Walther P99 so it's cool too.

This is an essential addition to the game if you don't have any other 'gun' attachment for your controllers. The 'Hand-Cannon' is well made and feels great. Yes as other reviews point out, your arm may feel a bit tired after a while, but that's par for the course and, in my opinion, totally acceptable. The only issue I've found with this so far is that the groove in the back of the handle for running the Nunchuck cable through (if you decide to attach the Nuncuck... which isn't compulsory) digs into my palm after a good long play. A minor gripe though.

...In all the confusion, I forgot how many bullets I fired. I might have one left. Question: do you feel lucky, you undead thingy?
Well, do ya?
Tee hee. This gun is the mutt's nuts. For the House of the Dead game (I've got 2&3), it's a Must Have. It adds so much to the play, it's hard to imagine playing it any other way.
By the way, get House of the Dead. What A Larf.
Anyway, I can't get enough of it. Every time my missus goes out, I'm on it.
Take that, you smelly undead eejit.
Do buy one. You won't regret it.
Oh, and by the way; it might work with other games, but I know for a fact that it won't behave on Resident Evil 4. Pulling the trigger is only good for aiming, and you're much better off using other zappers in gun-shape form (preferably one with the nunchuk on the butt) for RE 4.
Anyway, this really is a gem.
Two thumbs up from me.
Back, you undead horde. Back, I say.
Seriously frothy, man.

..as the title says...why buy only one when buying two is twice the fun, whether with some'one else or single player....and

i personally bought two of these babies so i could play akimbo style, straight out of Hard Boiled (Collector's Edition) [DVD] [1992]. They are lighter than i expected. Sturdy build, and remotes easily fit in the top of the guns. I haven't found the need to connect the nunchucks, but i can see how connection is made and the cable seated snuggly down the back of the grip in a neat groove.

i tried no other controllers, so no direct comparison, but these simply add to authenticity of playing the game. Calibaration is easy and straight forward. but face it, the name of the game is sending these undead creatures back where they belong and these little kitties make the job a whole lot easier..

..so go ahead treat yourself.
