This book has an American humour (supposedly) bias and at best is dreadfully unfunny. Wish I hadn't bought it; will probably send it back. Not a bit sarcastic, and a terrible disappointment.
Lightweight and not the slightest bit biting. Beware!

This book is the ultimate guide to snark and an honest to goodness good riot. The entries are hilarious--reading sarcasm on topics like Elton John, women, employment--everything that defines our culture from this book will put a smile on everyone's face.

Not pleased with this book. Bought it for my husband as a gift so that he could chuckle over even more sarcastic remarks he could make to 'friends' and some family, but found it be mostly American sarcasmm and not necessarily relevant to to UK culture (actually it was not even sarcasm). That opinion is purley based on flicking through it rather than reading it all. He will get the book as a gift anyway, and we will see if he can use, going to the Ball Park type comments as saracasm.

My fault, perhaps, but I purchased this for my 16-year-old who has a fine line in sarcasm because I thought it might amuse him (and give him some ideas!) However it really is quite a dry dictionary, not the amusing stocking-filler I envisaged.

Gave this to my son as a present and he keeps reading it and chuckling to himself - if it can keep a teenager happy then it must be a good read. Haven't looked at it myself but when he finally puts it down I'll have a look.

Received as a present. A classic illustration of how the Americans don't get sarcasm. Some witty little observations and comparisons, snarky remarks as another reviewer noted, but they are just that.

I have a teenage grandson who absolutely thrives on "intellectual sarcasm". He is a master in his own right but this book knocks spots off him. It was a very welcome Christmas present.
