5.0 out of 5 stars A Top Gooners Guide., 7 Sep 2002
By Paul J. Kulhavy "TheGooner" (New Zealand) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm assuming that you're a Gooner if you're reading this review (or maybe buying a book for a Gooner).

The Arsenal Official Yearbook 2002 is a top publication for Arsenal fans worldwide. Each game from the 2001/02 season is given a double page spread with a match report and a couple of colour pictures from each game.

It's presented in chronological order and the graphics are well done with club badges and competition logos, as well as a general summary of the statistics around the game.

The match reports are a little commercial and saccarine sweet. There is none of the "bite" that you might expect to get from your favourite newspaper, but they do tend to be pretty glowing about the Gunners even when they lose ... and let's face it that's all that WE really want to read.

There is a results summary which shows just how dominant the Arsenal were at the tail end of the season when the trophies were being handed out.

At the end there is a player section covering all players associated with the club. That means that I can find out about Kolo Toure who has suddenly appeared on the scene.

As I said at the start, this is a good book, perhaps it's a bit commercial but it's still a very good Arsenal read. All Gooners should buy this book before it goes out of print. Because ARSENAL were totally dominant in 2001/02 and you'll want to go back to this book again and again to remind yourself just how good they were.

:-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I always wanted...., 23 Nov 2002
This was a season no Gooner would want to forget - and this is the book to help any temporary bouts of amnesia. It's informative without being overbearing and the facts and figures are presented in a clear and easily understandable format. Every self-respecting Gooner household should have a copy!!!
