Product Description

Product Description

This is a season of secrets, scandal and seduction in high society! Set in Regency England, this continuity sweeps you from glittering ballrooms, to a smuggler's cove in Cornwall, to the wilds of Scotland, a Romany camp, and back again. Each story has a passionate, intense, central relationship but the thread linking them together is a darkly dangerous, yet sexy stranger, who is out for revenge, delivering a silken rope as his calling card. Through him, a long-forgotten past is stirred to life, and the notorious events of 1794 which saw one man murdered and another hanged for the crime, are brought in to question. Was the right man brought to justice or is there still a treacherous murderer at large?

Silk and Scandal 25 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback
Can be read as a stand alone Regency Romance, however it is apart of a series and it adds a little more information about the intriguing Stephano Beshaly alias Mr Hepden. It is set during the war with Napoleon and tells of a notorious ladies man Lieutennant Hal Carlow who becomes intrigued by a poor but innocent lady and vice-versa. Having vowed never to marry Hall finds himself leg shackled and poor Julia left wondering what happened to love and a romantic hero. A nice edition to the series.

Good book, poor format 12 Mar 2011
By M. Alm - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought the Kindle edition of this book because the author had been recommended to me. The story is fun, but knowing it's part of a series by different authors without knowing what other books comprise the series and in what order is a bit annoying. Louise Allen is a good writer. However, the people who formatted the Kindle edition should shot. Words run together, words broken apart... I'm a novice at creating e-books and could, and have, done a better job on a book than this "professional" edition offered for sale. Based on other reviews, this is a problem with the whole series. Still, format warts notwithstanding, this is a fun, light read, one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to someone else.
Good entry for the Series 1 Mar 2011

I had not read books in a series by different authors before, that shared plotlines and characters. This was a worthwhile entry in the overall story arc.

I loved all of this series. They fit together so well and left you wanting the next one immediately. She is one of my new favorite authors. Well worth the read.
