Which Orpheus?,
By
This review is from: Offenbach: Orpheus in the Underworld (Audio CD)
Despite this being in German I bought this CD to help me learn to sing in a performance, and this seemed to be one of the few versions available of the whole show (and it has the dialogue too). If you are thinking of doing the same, beware. This is musically very different version from the 'Operatic Society' version used in the UK (published by Josef Weinberger). It is set in a lower key, and many of the musical numbers are different. I dont recommend you buy it for this purpose.
