It starts out innocently enough with two hard-working individuals burning the midnight oil at work trying to get things finished on Valentine's Day. Then the fun starts with a little unresolved sexual tension that seems one-sided at first glance. I love the innocent flirting. Zoe, the leading lady, obviously thinks that nothing is going to come of it, especially on Valentine's Day since that day doesn't exactly hold warm and fuzzy feelings for Adam, her oh-so-hunky co-worker and boss man extraordinaire. What starts off the rest of the story is like a scene from my favorite cop drama, NCIS. You've got a hot man who is good with his hands (no pun intended...yet), a love of building things, a basement, and the smell of sawdust. Now all that's missing is a good ole how-to lesson on building something, and off we go! Amy Valenti doesn't disappoint us and we are lead on a rather interesting series of romps that take a slightly paranormal twist because good ole hunky Adam is telekinetic and telepathic, it seems. Gotta love a man who can get me all hot and bothered from across the room without even touching me AND know exactly what I want just by reading my mind. I wouldn't have minded a little more detailed ending because it seems to stop short, but my imagination can always fill in the gaps from there if I want a happily ever after. I enjoyed it overall.

It's Valentine's Day and Zoe and her boss have just finished a big marketing proposal. She's not ready to head out but he can't stand to see her alone on Valentine's Day. Adam invites her home with him to help out with his DIY project. Zoe is determined not to read too much into his offer.

Adam has a few hidden talents that he has to hide everyone around him, until he takes a chance and shares his talent with Zoe. He has wanted Zoe for awhile but he was afraid of losing her friendship if things went bad. Now he is ready to take the step forward with her, if she is still interested.

This was a fun, sexy short story. It was obvious from the beginning that Zoe and Adam had chemistry but something was keeping them apart. I loved the way Adam got her into his domain and "played" with her building the sexual tension between the two. She is crazy about him and can't be sure if he is flirting with her or she is just imagining it.

She is startled but intrigued when she starts feeling his hands on her while he is still across the room. She enjoyed the moment but was left with lots of questions. His hidden talent is super sexy and I love the fact that they are able to share images of what they want to do to each other without speaking. It takes the guess work out of what could be an awkward situation. I am glad that he can't read her all the time though, just when her emotions are intense, it would make it really hard to have a viable relationship.
