5.0 out of 5 stars A great read! 19 Aug 2007
This account by Kevin Walton and Rick Atkinson brings to life the amazing world of Antarctica as seen through the eyes of the men of the British Antarctic Survey who were lucky enough to be there when dogs were the prime mode of transport. The reader gets to know some of the dogs and to wonder at the feats accomplished by them. The photography is superb and the text very readable. Factual and down-to-earth, with quotes and photos from many participants spanning the fifty years of dogs in the South. Great!
