About the Author
One of Britain's most widely-read and admired poets, Dannie Abse has also written fiction, plays and several acclaimed volumes of autobiography. In 2002 his novel, The Strange Case of Dr Simmonds & Dr Glas, was long-listed for the Booker Prize and short-listed for the Wingate Prize. In 1993 he received an Hon.D.Litt from the University of Wales, and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and President of the Welsh Academy of Letters.

This is an absolutely wonderful book of love poetry arranged by time period, the best of each generation collected in one fabulous little volume. I always take it on long trips. Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful and soul satisfying.
