The Peso figure is cute and looks like the cartoon character. However, the only bits now played with are Peso and the narwhal. Peso's medicine case is so small it would go down your average plughole, and it doesn't do anything - it disappeared within minutes and hasn't been missed. Same goes for the sea star (although the spots change colour in warm water - 10 second novelty). The narwhal squirts water and its plaster changes colour, and Peso gets thrown around a bit. The narwhal coffin (supposed to be an ice berg) doesn't open at the bottom of the bath as promised (basic physics would tell you that it was a silly notion anyway). The scoop thing only fits the narwhal head first, something my 2 year old doesn't quite understand. Peso's helmet comes apart rather easily, although it's equally easy (for an adult) to fix.
My kids got this as a present, and I'd probably buy it for Octonauts die-hards if the price was right (around the £5 mark). The manufacturing quality was OK but the imagination and design is very uninspring and impractical.

This is a lovely little set, annoying that you do have to have multiples of the characters just to get all the gear. I would not use this in water. The narwhal is a water squirter and as with all water squirters is never ever dry on the inside allowing mildew to form. Nothing nastier than squirting a squirting toy and black gunk come shooting out. Too some pieces are held together with metal screws which will rust as a bath toy. My kids love this as it is very cute.

My experience, generally, with TV show theme toys is they are a one-off money grab first, and good toys second. Not so with the Octonauts Action Figures! I was amazed by the good size of the toys, especially because they are impossible to swallow, (although you do have to use your judgement with the accessory bits) and also because they are constructed of sturdy materials. I was honestly expecting junky 1 1/2" brittle plastic characters but these are an appropriately nice big size for small hands (2"+) and have a pleasant feel to them. I also purchased several of the Gup vehicles and equally impressed with the design quality and the nice size. I feel I got good value for my money, especially since they are not "cheap" to purchase. It was great they are not cheaply made!

The one thing that I found surprising was that this toy is also bath time approved. - When I was buying it, I did not know that.

Good for Octonauts fans...
This is a good kit with the most coverted Peso inside. All the little accessories are quite good and set the child up with enough to come up with a game to play quite nicely. Read more

Great toy but the paint does start to rub off
It does not matter to me but the paint runs off quickly on these little toys. It might be we take them into the tub at night. Read more
