Great book for university/college students 27 May 2002

This is a great book for anyone studying oceanography, marine biology or anyone interested in the ocean and the life within. The book takes the reader through the origin of the oceans, plate tectonics etc. Ocean properties, circulation, waves, tides and weather patterns are described. The ocean ecosystem and marine animals are included along with their interactions with coral reefs, mangroves etc. Biological effects of El Nino and much more is included in this book.

A brilliant book, really useful throughout university and beyond!
