However, with technological advances and breaktaking CGI, Ocean Odyssey has created the most accurate portrayal of the deep oceans that has ever been seen. This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply. This product is expected to play back in DVD Video "play only" devices, and may not play in other DVD devices, including recorders and PC drives.

Synopsis

Do you know what lies at the bottom of the ocean? Representing the majority of our planet's surface, extreme pressure and perpetual darkness mean that the ocean depths have only been seen by torchlight - until now. From the makers of the Walking With... series comes an enthralling exploration of Earth's final frontier seen through the eyes of its greatest inhabitant and the world's largest predator, the sperm whale. Following a young male from infancy to old age, the marinescape comes vividly to life: the impossibly deep canyons, the underwater volcanoes, and the spectacular submerged mountian ranges.

4.0 out of 5 stars Trust the BBC to do it properly.... 2 Oct 2006
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
My 6 year old was entranced by this and learned so much. While ITV do to dinosaurs what they did to Saturday night football (EG, fill it with gimmicks like Nigel Martin or Andy Townsend!) the BBC stick to solid production values and produce a gem to sit well with the Walking With series..

5.0 out of 5 stars A must view DVD 1 Aug 2008
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This is an amazing insight into the life of a Sperm Whale. Good use of CGI giving the viewer the chance to see the otherwise unseen lives of these magnificent cetaceans.

It's not an over the top Jurassic Park style presentation but a well thought out and scientifically backed up story style documentary.

Well worth the Price and a must have for any Whale Watcher or Natural history buff.

This is a very intresting program, it have very good special effects and it was a great idea to recreate with digital graphics living animals that had never been seen. In conclusion, another great program from the makers of the "Walking with..." series.
