5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute must-have! 14 Aug 2012
Format:DVD
Award winning film from world-renowned studio, Production I.G. Awesome CG, very colorful. Great feelgood movie, fun for the whole family. Must have, must see. Seeing is believing. Sorry, i'm bad at reviews. Please buy this movie, you will not regret it. At least do it for the kids. And yourself.

Plot: Haruka lost her mother at a young age. While her mother was still alive, she received a hand mirror from her. After her mother's death, she forgot about the mirror and eventually lost it. One day, she decides to go to a local shrine and pray for the hand mirror to be returned to her. It is there that she accidentally encounters a small masked creature which she secretly follows to the land of forgotten items.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alice in Wonderland 24 July 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
This anime production is kind of a mix of Alice in Wonderland and Narnia. It tells the story of Haruka, who lost her mother at a young age, and her friend Teo. Throughout the story she follows a mysterious fox that keeps on appearing.

Cool animations by Production I.G.

The story is pretty OK, but not as good as Journey To Agartha!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Watch 24 Jun 2013
By Cuggles
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
This was bought shortly after I had purchased Journey To Agartha on blue ray and both were amazing, me and my husband couldn't say which was better because they both had features and a story line that made them very different. The animation is amazing in this film and the story line keeps you watching. It tells the story of how we all have things we wish we could find that have been lost. although we did find it quite young at heart we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone that likes animation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice animation but the story is lacking 18 Jun 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Warning - there will be spoilers!
First off, the animation on this film is brilliant. It's really got moments of sheer awe, the film is a sort of mix of 2.5D/3D backgrounds and 3D character models which looks very unique. However this is also one of the problems with the film, its visuals often outmatch many other elements of the film in particular the storyline and characterisation. I definitely think the characters could have been developed more, Haruka should had more screen time in the real world rather than on oblivion island. Her relationship with her father should have been explored more at the start of the film, it just equates him with working a lot and being too lazy to clean up after himself, drinking Haruka's drink etc This leads on the second point in that the film is rather content to stay within the cliches of a childrens film/tv-series, the film relies on rather underdeveloped trivial issues in the beginning of the film like the characterisation of Haruka's father and the focus of Dio's bullies who are some sort of gang who take prominence in the first half of the film. It's never really explained why the gang are out to get Dio at all except they find Haruka accompanying him as suspicious. Basically the gang don't really need to exist except for some tension chase scenes.

Yes I might be being harsh on this film as it is afterall targeted towards kids but enjoyable for anybody to watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Japanese Toy Story 10 July 2014
By Kuma
Format:Blu-ray
This has more in common with Toy Story and other Pixar films than traditional manga being largely a work of CGI and aimed squarely at the more junior market. Sometimes I found the plot shallow or didn't particularly follow any kind of narrative logic and much of the characterization was bland, but it more than makes up for it by being visually impressive. It would probably be even better on the big screen than on a big screen TV, there are a lot of things happening on screen at once! Very entertaining if you do not dig into it too deeply!
