Determined to find out what happened to their captain and friend, Tarma and Kethry, with Warrl and a string of Shin'a'in horses in tow, set out to Rethwellan, where they find a bigger set of troubles than they bargained for! The better of the two Vow books, this one has a better storyline because it isn't just a bunch of short stories that tie together. You can understand alot about the characters feelings and the two women grow stronger in their bonds. This book has the Oathbreaker ritual and ,as Mercedes points out in her book Oathblood, it shows how Tale'sedrin becomes a living clan once more. As usual extremely well thought out and above all my expectations, high as they are!

The middle book of the trilogy and it sets the tensions of the adventures to come.
As usual Mercedes Lackey does'nt disappoint the reader. This early period of Valdemars history is only lightly covered so far and more books on this time would be welcome.
