I have owned one of these vacs for a few years now and it still works as well as day 1. the amount of sludge collected from the bottom of the pond is well worth the effort as it keeps the fish in a healthier state and returns the water back to the pond It would be possible to do this job once a year but that is a matter of personal preference or how much rubbish gathers in the bottom. I would give it a 10/10 for ease of use

Powerfull suction lifting all solids from pond bottom & surface. This will eliminate annual draining of pond causing stress to fish & self. The insertion of a foam filter would be an advantage to remove fine silt - thus 4*

Nice and easy to use. The auto-switch off and empty is a great idea and saves considerable time and effort compared to some other pond vacs. I also love the idea of the clear hose, so you can see what you have cleaned up! Very rewarding sight! The only down side is the fact the vac has to be higher than the empty hose to empty. Would not be a problem if the pond is at ground level but mine isn't. I have to put the vac on a plastic box for it to empty, which poses a risk in itself. I have never found the pefect vac though.

Vacuum Cleaner for Pond
This is a good heavy duty pond vacuum cleaner. You need to take your time, my pond has not been cleaned in over 10 years and this is doing the job.

A good vacuum devise for clearing the sludge at the bottom of the pond. The long hose makes it useful to a pond depth of approx 1 metre. Read more
