I was always curious about this band and in particular, this release. I found some of the complete tracks on You Tube, and really liked them. Unfortunately, they are the best tracks on the album. Daddy Longlegs was an American transplant, living in the UK. Their music is a hybrid of rock, jazz and country. The latter influence is what kills this cd. Their attempts at humor are pitiful and these "cute" country tracks are what weighs the album down. I thought it was the producer's job to be the voice of reason. Obviously he missed the boat and didn't remove the turds that ruin this record. The rest of the tracks rock with assurance and are highly enjoyable. Vocals vary in quality but are generally, good. Even a pedestrian track like "Boogie"( it's just what you think it is) is rescued by the band's stellar playing which is excellent thru the course of the cd. This is the 2nd of 4 releases from Daddy Longlegs and my curiosity ends here. Even if the band didn't have other songs to replace the stiffs, some well chosen covers would have done the job. Oh well, thank God for the skip button!
