This book was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Oahu, who said it was one of the most accurate guidebooks about the island. The writers don't announce themselves to the hotels/restaurants and subsequently receive the same service you or I would receive - their descriptions of hotels, restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions and beaches were accurate and invaluable. We never even bought a street map as the maps in the books were good enough - we only got lost once!! In addition, although guidebooks by their nature go out of date very quickly, if you buy the book you will get access to the password for the writers' website, and any changes to the book are posted there. I'd definitely recommend this book if you're going to Oahu.

I can not recommend this book enough! If you are going to Oahu this is essential. I actually purchased a couple of guide books before I left but this is the one that was most informative and above all HONEST! Whilst on holiday this book came in to play several times and a somebody working in the hotel actually said it was the most accurate!

Purchased this book in readiness for our trip to Oahu in October. The book is well laid out, very comprehensive on all subjects relating to Oahu. Glad I bought it. Will be taking it with us for sure.

Disappointed
This book did not contain the level of practical information that you would get from a Lonely Planet. It was far more geared to exploring the island by hire car. Read more

Informative and useful
As with all of these Wizard guides to the Hawaiian islands, they are informative and include good maps which take the place of the fact I couldn't buy island road maps. Read more
