I wanted to review this item because I read so many less than glowing reviews on it here. I think they miss the point.
The whole point of this mug is its safety. I can drink out of this safely while driving or at work - I dont have to look to see where the hole is as its 360 drinkable and it wont suddenly drip over me if I go over a bump and it leaves no residue liquid within the lip. I can drink at a desk or computer and if it gets knocked over and is closed it will not leak or accidentally open - even if dropped to the floor it will not leak. You could turn it upside down and shake it vigerously and nothing will come out. There is also no annoying little flip lid that gives you a wet drip on the end of your nose like so many other similar mugs.
As to it keeping stuff warm - once again the point of this mug is its safety - if you need something kept hot for an hour then a thermos is more what you need - personally I think the taste of fresh coffee kept warm for an hour or so is pretty disgusting - I usually drink it within half an hour at the most. As to it making a clicking noise, well I've never been embarrassed by it - it is a good solid open/close mechanism and it does give you a good audible sign that the valve is open which is once again safe.
This mug was 100% exactly what I was looking for but if you get embarrassed by a clicking noise when you open it or want your drink kept hot for over half an hour then you might be better off with something else.

I want a travel mug that I can lob in my bag with the babywipes and nappies, and then an hour or two later when I'm standing frozen at the playground, I can get the mug out and enjoy a hot cup of tea.
Well, this mug is watertight - I shook the full mug vigorously upside down, and not a drop fell out.
Unfortunately, an hour later, the tea was no longer hot. It was still drinkably warm, but not as warm as the tea in my cheapy Tesco travel mug (I've just done a test!).
So - the choice seems to be Hot, or Leaky.
Although perhaps if the mug had been in my bag, surrounded by nice insulated nappies, instead of on my kitchen worktop, it might have done a little better.

Good mug! No spill down my white shirt on my morning drive in. No spill if it falls over. I'm going to get another one for the missus.

Poor heat-retention
While the lid works exceptionally well to keep any drips or drops inside, the mug itself is poorly insulated and looses heat quite quickly.
