I purchased this following us breaking a few other nut crackers with stubborn nuts. This one is simple, strong and totally practical. Highly recommended as a simple nut cracker - it does not break! It is also good for seafood if you are into that. I purchased some more elaborate ones that are less strong and this one is often chosen in preference.

The Good Grips nut cracker is solid and definitely looks that part. It does work on most nuts, but there were some brazil nuts that were still very hard to crack and sometimes when it would crack, the nuts would be shattered. I guess the saying "a tough nut to crack" exists for a reason.

Good and sturdy unlike some cheaper versions. Walnuts and brazils no problem, whereas cheaper varieties cannot take the pressure

It's a good product for good price.I bought it to crack hazelnuts I got from my mom. Some of the nuts were small but this cracker didn't have problem to brake them. Read more
