OUTWELL MITRA SLEEPING BAG DOUBLE/2 PERSON CAMPING NEW

when we got this sleeping bag, the first thing we wanted to do was get in it and try it out for size, which we both did... fully clothed!!!
in terms of the size, fitting me and my girlfriend in was no problem at all and i would say we are both of average size.

we then got out and decided to put it away until we actually needed it, which is when we come to the down side and the reason it hasn't got full marks, the bag! How they hell they got that in there we don't know. The two of us were fighting with it for a good 15-20 mins trying to get it back into it's bag! it was not easy and a really tight squeeze!

We have actually used this sleeping bag a couple of times now, sleeping on a blow up bed in a friends front room and it is really warm and comfortable, it does come with built in pillows, but they are a bit thin for my liking so have used my own pillow on top, but the pillow section can easily be unzipped.

The actual sleeping bag itself, 5 out of 5. the carry bag for it 1 out of 5, it is too small so you have to fight to get it back in, and after using it only twice, one of the straps holding to top on has broken off!

My boyfriend and I had previously owned a very poor quality double sleeping bag from the 'value' section of a popular supermarket so this bag is clearly far superior. We chose the Mitra firstly because the lining was considerably softer and more comfortable compared with the cheap shiny polyester of our previous bag. Secondly the Mitra is a lot warmer, at a 2 Season temperature rating, it is perfect for a British summer. We brought an extra blanket for our week stewarding at a festival this June when it rained constantly and was fairly cold, but we didn't need it. The bag is so warm and cosy! Obviously if you're planning on using it in autumn or winter or going somewhere a little colder, take thermal underwear and blankets. The feature that surprised me was the built-in pillows- I brought my travel pillow, but ended up not using it as the built-in one was thick enough for me to sleep comfortably. This might have had something to do with the shape of our air-mattress though. The fact that the pillow section is there also means that the bottom edge of the bag doesn't slip down during the night and leave us just lying on our air mattress, which is what happened with the cheap bag. All in all, you definitely get what you pay for with this bag, it's so worth it.

Also, in response to comments I've read about not being able to get it back into the bag; from three years experience working at a camping shop, I find a lot of people trying to fit a rolled up sleeping bag back into the stuff-sack as it came packaged. It's a massive waste of time and effort to try and roll it back up, you'll never do it. Fold it in half and STUFF it, it's the easiest way!

i had looked round many camping stores looking for a double sleeping bag, go outdoors went close but there same sleeping bag was 15 pound more, so i choose amazon and when the bag arrived i was pleased with my purchase went to my caravan the same weekend with the weather at only 3 degree above freezing, the sleeping coped no problem infact i had to open the bag up to cool down, the pillow section not up to much but you would have your own pillows any way i wouldnt have any worry in telling my friends and family to purchase this sleeping bag
