About the Author

Lynn Beighley is a fiction writer stuck in a technical book writer's body. Upon discovering that technical book writing actually paid real money, she learned to accept and enjoy it. She's authored more than a dozen books and countless articles and short stories.

During her last semester working on an MS in Computer Science, she discovered Flash and wrote her first bestseller. She never finished the degree. She moved to Silicon Valley just before the great crash. She spent several years working for Yahoo! and writing more books and training courses. Finally giving in to her creative writing bent, she moved to NY and earned an MFA in Creative Writing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Better Out There 5 Jan 2014
By Macreader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Does not get into much detail. I love the OS Bible Series and since there is not one for Mavericks I was hoping this could replace it, it didn't.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best of many 14 Jun 2014
By jmo7 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
There are many guides written for the OS X, but this one is the best. It took lots of hours to read through it, but was well worth it. Many good pictures, and the explanatory writing is easy to comprehend. (Unlike other manuals.) Covers everything you would want to know and more.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, but for beginners only. 10 Feb 2014
By Alex K. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a very good book with good informative graphics, IF you are an absolute beginner to Mac. If you have ever used a Mac for more than a few days, or you want to actually troubleshoot as well as improve your skills, you should look to something more advanced. The Missing Manual series is great.
1.0 out of 5 stars Too basic 8 Jan 2014
By David - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
There are better books on this topic. This is just so basic and non helpful. I did not like it and I bought another.
