I bought the charging dock because i must have spent a fortune on AA batteries from constantly switching them every few days or so. This dock is really slim line and easy to use, simply plug it in and place the controllers ontop, the machine does the rest. Charges really quickly and last a decent amount of time. In addition it would be £15 to buy a single battery charger from most high street store where as this is £5 less considering you can dock two of them and also you do not have to take the batterie out to charge it. Great product.

I've had this product for 6 months now and it is hands down the best product of its kind that I have used. Two battery packs with good battery life and a neat little charger all for a very reasonable price.

I've had no problems with either the battery packs or the charger throughout my six months of usage so far.

I would recommend very highly.

ORB Magnetic Induction Charger and Rechargeable Battery Packs - Black (Xbox 360)
Purchased this for my 13 year old son, who like half the population are addicted to playing for hours on the xbox 360. He thinks it is so good it should have come with the xbox in the first place!
Saves all the fiddling around with plugging cables in and is very good value as it comes with 2 battery packs.

Best value battery packs I found - and I worked in a highstreet video game retailer and saw a lot of options!

I think I paid about £12 for the mat and 2 battery packs, and I have been using them for over 3years. The charging probably isnt the quicket, but I stored the controllers on the mat to keep them neat so they would charge overnight. Occasionally I would forget to put one back and it would run out after a while, but there is always another battery pack ready for a quick swap.

Battery life is really good, even when I forgot to put a controller back on charge the battery would last a few days of nightly gaming sessions. Charging is really neat with no messy wires, just place the controller on the pad. Red lights show its charging and they turn blue when fully charged.

3years in one of the battery packs doesnt seem to be holding its charge very well, but the other is still going strong. I think this degradation is acceptable, no battery packs last forever, and the official ones didnt even last this long!

I wish they would do the same thing for Xbox one battery packs (Orb do a charging dock, but not quite the same. I will probably buy that anyway though).

i have been using the xbox 360 since it came out and i have not found a better charging kit.
i bought this item to replace 2 play and charge kits which where ok but they did not have much battery life.
i currently have 2 xbox 360s connected too 2 32inch TVs in the same room so i can play more games with my friends.
but this has caused issues on battery for the wireless controller as i need more.
so i bought my first ORB wireless battery charger in the box its pretty simple it comes with the wireless charge plate a usb wire to power the wireless plate and 2 batteries.
its simple to use plug the wire in to the usb on the xbox and plug the other end into the wireless charging plate and put the batteries on the wireless charge plate either in the controller or by them self and they will snap into place and a LED will glow red for charging and blue for charged.
I get around 8-14 hours of gaming off one off these battery packs.
bad things about this are its to big to be placed on top off the slim and it looks a bit cheap.
im going to buy a second one off these and i cant see why other buyers don't either.

I have never bought anything with a magnetic charging plate before, and I have been sceptical about these things ever since I heard about them.

Firstly, the batteries. So far the battery life on these have been very good. I only have a single Xbox controller for my PC, so I only actually need one at a time. After an obligatory charge when I got them, I have yet to need to charge my first battery again. That is easily over 10 hours of life so far in just one, and it is only on "Medium Battery". At the moment I am playing a lot of Dragon Age Inquisition, and that is what I use the controller for. So it is long play sessions each time.
The batteries are surprisingly light. I honestly expected more weight to them. This is not a con though, but a rather big pro, as it reduces fatigue from holding the controller. Even though they are light, the weight is definitely not an indication of the build quality. These feel tough and very well put together. This also comes with 2 batteries to boot.

Now for the charging plate. Like what it charges, it is fairly light and excellently constructed. It comes in two pieces, so to speak. You have the plate and the USB cable. This will obviously plug in to any USB slot 2.0 or 3.0. The best bit is, that the section that plugs in to the plate is the same as the one that plugs in to the PS3/4 controllers, which from my experience is a very universal cable, like many cables Sony uses. So if you ever lose it, you need not worry about expensive replacements.
The magnetic charging still blows my mind. You literally place the battery on the plate, then the corresponding light will illuminate, red for charging, blue for full, as shown in the picture for the product.
