I bought this strap partly to avoid the garish free advertising the camera makers put on their own brand ones, and partly to make the camera more comfortable to carry during an all day shoot. The strap does what I wanted in both of these areas, but I do find the size of the strap is a bit bulky.

Also, the quick release clips are too far away from the camera, so if I take the neoprene section off the strap I am left with two long pieces of webbing that have clips on the end. These bits get in the way just as much as the padded part I have removed, so I don't really gain anything by having the quick release option.

Overall, does what I wanted but a bit expensive and not very well designed.

I got this strap for a Mamiya TLR, which weighs about 5 lbs with the heaviest lens and prism finder attached. I had previously bought an Op/Tech 'Classic' strap for a similar camera, and found it very comfortable indeed - no problem carrying the camera over my shoulder for hours, owing to its broad, stretchy material. This time I've gone for the 'Super Classic' which is even better: it is thicker, more cushioned material and, more importantly, has an anti-slip material on the lower surface, making it stay put over the shoulder even with heavy equipment. The quick release connectors also allow the cushioned portion to be removed, reconnecting to form a small hand strap.
And, unlike the so-called 'Pro' straps made by Op/Tech, this one is completely free of product advertising and available only in black - surely a better indicator of a serious user?

Super Classic Strap

This strap is ideal. Very comfortable around the neck. It can be altered to whatever length you require. It is without a doubt the best binocular/camera strap i have used. Buy this strap and you won't be dissapointed.

Wanted something more comfortable than the straps supplied with my Canon DSLR. I was looking for soft straps that I could also slide on my RC-1. The OP/Tech range is pretty good and overall I found the Super Classic Strap to be comfortable.

I would have preferred the shoulder pad to be longer and the detachable straps to be shorter as they are quite dangly when the camera is on a tripod. But each to their own.......

4 star given as I also bought the Secure Its x4 system connectors for piece of mind in case the quick release clips ever failed when out walking - for a strip of velcro it would have been a nice touch if these were sold with the strap, instead of charging them as optional extras.

Having tried many camera straps for various SLRs, I can unreservedly say that this is the best. It's beautifully designed; broad enough to distribute the weight of a heavy pro SLR/DSLR and medium zoom on your shoulder and with just the right amount of 'spring' to provide the impression of lightness. The surface is slightly (but not uncomfortably) rough to grip your shoulder. The main strap removes almost instantly if you want to switch to a tripod or create a small carry handle. Hard to see why one should get so excited about a strap, but this one really has been thoughtfully designed and beautifully made. Buy it - you won't regret it.

I bought this for use with a reasonably heavy pair of binoculars. The padded part is very well made and I like the slight stretch, which does make heavier items feel much lighter. The clips are very secure, although I don't think I would use them. Maybe someone using this strap with a camera may remove the strap if using their camera on a tripod. The only thing I dont just like is that the webbing is only about 3/8" all the way from the shoulder pad to the fixing points. I would rather it had been wider, then stepped down towards the ends. But still worth 4 stars, and other than my slight niggle, an excellent strap.

First the good points: It's a well constructed strap. Good quality. All black and discrete. Good padding, detachable, so far so good. But the bad point, which made me hate it, is that continuously slides off my shoulder. (I dubbed it "The Slider") . I have a couple of no-brand neoprene straps and the neoprene doesnt have any fabric cover on it, so they are very grippy on whatever shirt or jacket I'd be wearing, but this Op/Tech strap has an outer layer of synthetic fabric that doesn't get a grip on anything.
It's annoying to have to be often pulling the strap up my shoulder to avoid my camera falling.

This is the camera strap you want. I first came across this product in 2002, where Rocky Mountain School of Photography were selling them with their branding. I bought two. Twelve years later transferring through 3 replacement camera bodies, I still use them. I've since got another one that I use on my second body. I've never seen one fail. That tells you just how durable they are. They're reliable, and much more comfortable to wear than the strap that comes with the camera. As for weight capabilities, it'll handle anything you throw at it.
