About the Author

Eiichiro Oda debuted in WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP in 1997 as a comic creator and artist with ONE PIECE. One of the most popular comic artists in Japan today, Oda started out by winning the Hop Step Award (a monthly award given by Jump for amateur artists) as well as the esteemed Tezuka Award. His art style is reminiscent of Akira Toriyama, Sergio Aragones, and the movie Yellow Submarine.

One Piece Volume 46 has to be one of my favorite volumes of the series so far. At the start of the volume, Ace and Blackbeard's fight continues, and the powers of a deadly devil fruit are revealed. Brilliant moves are shown, by both Firefist Ace and the infamous Blackebeard, and this, in my opinion is one of the best fights so far! So, a perfect opening to a perfect volume? Yes.

The next arc begins, as the Straw Hats enter the foggy waters on their new ship. There, they are introduced to a strange looking fellow. Brook, the gentleman skeleton is introduced here, and keep in mind the saying - "don't judge a book by its cover". The first introduction between Luffy and Brook had me roaring in laughter. I wont spoil it for you, but, you definitely have to read it to find out.

The rest of the book introduces more interesting ideas and they are certainly odd, but brilliant nevertheless. Thriller Bark is my favorite arc in the series so far. Im not sure how long this will last, as volumes 47 and on sit quietly my shelf, but I think it beets East Blue, Borouque Works, Skypeia and Water Seven easily. The entire arc lasts 4-5 volumes, so is an easy thing to complete and gives you a sense of accomplishment.

I hope this review has helped you decide to get this brilliant volume by Oda Sensei.
Thanks for reading until now.

The beginning is awesome and picks up where last volume left off, the fight is fantastic and becomes a plot of pure genius as the series goes on.

Next we are introduced the character of Brook - And i found him hilarious. Like most things with this series, as first you're like "What! I can't laugh at this!?" and then you'er laughing withoput even realising and the frequent insertions of comedy.

Then it gets a little bit less interesting as the arc is introduced. I found it funny how the 3 clearly weakest characters were put in a team and the 5 super humans were far away from them, but i didn't mind - Chopper, probably the strongest out of those 3, was mainly used for comic relief here. This arc is not as serious as the last! But it is short, and that is no bad thing!

We have some interesting detailed inclusions into the Thousand Sunny. This just shows what an amazing writer Oda is - He literally does not forget anything, and fully describes everything he uses in a way which has you not doubting anything.

Brook is hilarious, and i think this arc will only get better!

Check it out!
