ok, i've just got hold of this product so here's my opinion....

It's easy to get going: you just plug it into the correct sockets (transmitter box in pc graphics card, - sv-video or otherwise - and the receiver in the tv scart etc). All cables included. There's not even a PC disk you need to install. You might have an on-board graphics card, but just make sure there is an video-out port somewhere available on your pc.

The trickier bit depends on your PC. I have nVidia graphics card, and it took me awhile to figure out the right setting ...but hey presto!, my desktop is now on my television, and i can show the family my audio, videos, gaming expertise, youtube etc.

It was just a matter of configuring 'dual display' settings (mine worked fine on 'Clone' setting). Also, video will appear blank on your PC while it plays on your TV (in win media player anyway.)

The point of this product is theoretically, you should never have to go near Physical Formats ever again, eg. DVD's....but just download everything ....and maybe the cable version of this is more recommended (i have a v.tiny quantity of static with this).

HOWEVER!...wireless broadband interferes with this product, so one solution is to go into your Hub Manager and disable it, and use ethernet cable. Then, sharing Youtube with your family is fine...watch your browser surf away on the tv. Audio quality is pretty good.

Also, at the moment I have to re-arrange all my desktop icons after using, but this is becasue my tv is not a high resolution one, ...so a minor gripe.

Hopefully, there will be more convergence with digital tv to computers via your internet router, but until this gets sorted, this product is a worthwhile option. Also, the boxes are very neat and small.

I haven't a laptop , so i've no idea how it runs, but make sure you have a s-video or video out port on it, should be fine.

It took quite a while to set up my PC (Nvidia GE Force MX/MX400 card) to work with this. Some of the twin screen options only appeared when the sender was not plugged in so the instructions provided confused matters here a bit. Even though the distance between TV and PC was small the picture quality was poor and the sound almost inaudible. Moving things around only seemed to make things worse. I could get streamed material from iPlayer to run but there was a problem with Win media player I could not get to the bottom of. This may be a PC problem with media player not operating properly with the graphics card set to twin view. The final nail in the coffin was I had to re set the PC every time I wanted to use the link and every time I finished. I returned the goods as it was too much hassle to use and the signal quality was poor.

Comes with everything you need in the box, assuming your pc video card has a video output.

Out of the box there's a transmitter and receiver with separate power packs, and a selection of plugs and cables to go in to your PC and TV.

I have a laptop so I used the S-Video output and the 3.5mm stereo plug for what would normally be the headphone socket to plug in to the transmitter. Plugged in the transmitter power pack, pressed the Fn/F4 keys on my laptop to activate the video output and I was transmitting.

I plugged the receiver in to a SCART port on the back of my telly, made sure the receiver was switched to the same channel setting as the transmitter, plugged in the receiver power pack and hey presto, my TV was showing the same as my laptop.

Technical Limitations:
1/ My broadband wireless router gives a constant pip-pip-pip- and interference on the TV so has to be disabled before use. If I want to watching streaming internet content I have to disable my WiFi and plug my lappy straight in to the router with a LAN cable.
2/ I normally connect my PC to TV with a suppressed heavy duty S-Video - SCART cable with gold plated connections, which is completely crystal clear and without interference. The wireless PC - TV sender isn't. While it's quite reasonable at fairly close range, (VCR quality-ish), the signal does deteriorate with distance. I live in a bungalow so there's not a room it doesn't work from, but I have to be careful not to place the transmitter near electrical things or metal objects.

The long and the short is that for a relatively cheap option this is a very easy way to get photos, music and video from your computer to your TV/HiFi. It's not the sharpest thing out there, but for occasional use it's fine, and a lot less bother than slinging Granny Hazard cables across the lounge floor!
