Product Description

Devil’s Brae
Imagine a warm autumn afternoon in a remote village in the Scottish Highlands. Cassandra Potter, fleeing from the memories of two traumatic deaths, goes walking alone on Devil’s Brae.
The wild country is empty, stretching for miles in every direction, it is then she sees him. A dark brooding figure, standing and watching as Cassandra climbs the brae. Apart from a lingering uneasy feeling she ignores the watcher, until the next time and it is then she realises her mistake. Someone wishes her gone from the village – at all costs.
Cassandra’s life is plunged into danger. Who is threatening her existence and her sanity? Who is the mysterious stranger? An inhabitant of the village of Inverdarroch? Or a person from her clouded past?
Above all, why is this happening to her?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow what a read 27 Oct 2013
By Bobble
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to say before I comment .. This is not my usual sort of read . It was recommended by a friend to read it and did. I usually enjoy SAS ... Black ops type of read . David Baker Chris Ryan ... Lee child etc.
I had a look at the book and thought while waiting for my favourite authors next book from the viper series and downloaded it ...and boy was I surprised!!
It's worse (or better) than a theme park ride lol..... So many twists ...turns ....and leaves you wanting to rush to the end to see what happens...??
It's very well written a little confusing to start but that might have been me ......so don't let that put you off.the story line is excellent and doesn't loose momentum throughout the book .
Don't make the same mistake as me and read the final chapters when your on a weekend away in a caravan in a remote part of the countryside during a rainy gale lashed night lol
A book you Must read

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read. 14 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Suffice to say this book had everything I like in it, mystery, pathos and bit of romance. I found it to be a real page turner and loved the descriptions of the Scottish Highlands. Well done, another excellent book by Faith Mortimer. I really look forward to reading more in this series. I can recommend all of Faith Mortimer's books.

4.0 out of 5 stars On Devils Brae 12 Mar 2014
By J.R.W.
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The wilds of Scotland present the perfect backdrop to On Devils Brae. This story has a good mix of romance, mystery and some suspense.
Cassandra Potter inherits her deceased sister’s cottage in Inverdarroch and looks forward to spending time in the isolated Highland village, partly to escape some aspects of her past but also to try and discover more about her estranged sister, Susan.
Before too long, Cassandra is made aware that someone, or something, wants her out of the village, and things that go bump in the night become all too frequent.
Everyone is under suspicion and there are plenty of odd characters!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Suspense Thriller 27 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I’ve read several of Faith’s books and have enjoyed every one of them. Her writing style is clean and descriptive. You really know it is cold in Scotland.

I can see the cottages, the oddly diverse characters and neighbours of our main character, the chill factor of perhaps the imaginings of her mind.

The contrast between city life and life in the wilds of Scotland is well drawn and you realise the different characters of the two cultures.

I have a feeling this genre might be another string to Faith’s talented writing prowess.
