My seven year old loves this book. It has lots of short stories which are 3 or 4 pages long, which is just about right for a bedtime story, that she loves reading to me. She is quite advanced at reading for her age, and the book would probably suit an average eight year old reader to read alone, but younger children would really enjoy listening to the short stories. The stories all have a moral to them, or at least some sort of lesson to be learned from them! I would recommend this book for children of any age for bedtime stories.

This edition contains the combined books of the 5, 6, 7 & 8 o'clock tales

Many of the stories of cautionary and some very old fashioned, but my thoroughly modern 5 year old boy still really enjoys them and actually howled with laughter when Brer Here plays a trick on Brer Fox- such a refreshing change from him 'killing' things and being a Power Ranger!!!

The stories are a lovely length- 2-3 pages each meaning you can usually fit in 'just one more story' before bed without it dragging out too much

I remember some of these stories from when *I* was a little girl and they are a delight to read again. Just do bear in mind they were written 60-70 years ago, and so there IS the occasional politically incorrect bit, but on the whole they are just good, clean fun

Go on treat yourself!!

This lovely book by Enid Blyton is full of short stories which my Grandsons will love. The stories are all quite short, so perfect for bedtime reading.w
I was however shocked yesterday when the same brand new book was for sale in my local bookstore at a reduced price of £3.99!!!! I paid £8.99 for it, so I do have to say, I feel ripped off, Amazon...

I bought this book to read aloud to my five year old son at bed time. It's been a great success - the stories are relatively short so we get through about 3 a night. All are imaginative, exciting stories which we've both enjoyed.
