Format: Paperback
Normally, when a teacher assigns their own textbook as reading material, it's a cue for everyone to groan and grumble about how they're being scammed. However, I've used both the AS and A2 versions of this textbook, and found it incredibly helpful and detailed. Even after leaving school, I still occasionally consult these books for help with electrical design problems, and i'm hoping that it will continue to be a useful resource in the future.

I was lucky enough to have Michael Brimicombe as my A-Level electronics teacher, and much like the books, he was easy to follow, patient, and didn't mind too badly when I blew up all of his chips... Repeatedly. Sorry, sir.

Format: Paperback
Pros:
Very comprehensive, covers all topics required for exams.
Relatively few errors compared to other textbooks.
Diagrams are plentiful.

Cons:
Can be very confusing at times, and sections don't always follow on from each other.
Written as if you can remember everything you've learnt in the course.
Difficult sections aren't explained enough, assumes you've already got background knowledge.

Perfectly fine with a knowledgeable teacher, but I had limited classroom time, so it was very tedious/difficult going through some sections.
