5.0 out of 5 stars Nutshell Guide to Growing Figs 26 Feb 2007
This is one of the five books that make up the Nutshell Guide series. It may be deminutive in size but is not lacking in good, solid cultural information. The book is punctuated by light hearted cartoon drawings which add to the feel of the series. The book is an easy read and delivers an education. Rate Highly

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful guide 17 Jan 2014

Having nursed a fig tree for many years, first potted, later planted in the garden, this booklet was of interest and assistance. Time tells, and we now have a sizeable tree which produces a more than adequate crop each year. Did this book help? Well, it gives good tips and imbued us with a feeling of confidence. Worthwhile.

1.0 out of 5 stars Big disappointment 26 Jun 2008
I was VERY disappointed with this bookLET...not only diminutive in size, but in scope. Very sparse on hard information, it would be a suitable small gift for someone appreciative of thoughtful gestures. But for a serious gardener, it is scarcely worth looking at. The cultural information it contains can be gleaned from a paragraph or two in virtually any gardening reference volume. I am even less satisfied to have paid a higher postage rate for delivery to my French address, money which could have gone towards the purchase of a larger book containing solid information- not jokey writing and line drawings- at the same delivery cost. NOT recommended to serious gardeners!

1.0 out of 5 stars Totally worthless 3 July 2009
By CA
the second reviewer is correct: this book is so elementary as to be worthless, and some of the "advice" it gives is totally bizarre. Go to the internet if you want to learn about growing figs.
