I have bought this book after being recommended and have been reading it avidly since. This is a no holds bar and perhaps some might say an extreme book which will shock you into thinking twice about what you eat.
It looks at health in a holistic way so it is not just a book on nutrition but also on emotional and spiritual aspects of food. Llaila shows how the eating of processed food is tantamount to homicide and suicide.
I have been naive to the marketing ploys of those who sell junk food and how through those campaigns are filled woth subtle messages that serve to inferiorise the life of Afro-Caribbeans/Americans throughout the world.

This is the first book that has shown how Africans in diaspora should eat to heal themselves physically, spiritually and mentally. Once you have read this book you will never be the same again.

This book was a blunt and harsh analysis of nutrition and associated lifestyle within the black communities (western world). Although it held back no punches (when it could have), most of what was said was true. The sensationalist style of writing made for quite a captivating read. Does contain very strong views, and hard-knock solutions!

Very insightful and eye opening book. Definetly recommending for those who are interested in their culture and the food they eat.
