Product Description

Review

"This core text is an invaluable resocurce for nursing students, qualified nurses, those returning to practise and nurse educators. The new edition has been revised and updated to present the knowledge and skills required for competent, evidence-based nursing practise. As always, the importance of the patient as partner in care is emphasised." Nursing Standard Vol 20 No 32

Review

"Every generation of student nurses has one book that becomes their 'bible'...This book has the potential to be the first point of reference for today's generation." "Heather McLelland, Sister and Accident and Emergency", Accident and Emergency Nursing Vol 9 No 4, October 2001
excellent reading for post-registration nurses who have forgotten the basics. However, far from being basic, this book contains a wealth of knowledge which reflects current research and practice while maintaining a focus on the holistic care of the patient." "Paul Wicker", British Journal of Perioperative Nursing, vol 11, March 2001 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

The Bible!!! 6 Mar 2003
Format:Paperback
I have been studying my nursing course at university for almost 18 months now and I have referred to this book time and time again for almost everything - ethical issues of consent and autonomy, pathophysiology of everything from heart failure to diabetes and how to do everything from taking a blood pressure to ECGs. This book has helped me with countless essays, reflective cycles, action plans and exams. A bible for any student nurse.

This book is FAB. It goes through normal anatomy and physiology (yet in a more basic and clearer way than most bilogy books) for all body systems. It then goes on to discuss common disorders of the system giving you detailed infomation on how to care for that patient whilst also looking at the pathophysiology of that disorder. I would recommend it to any student within the adult branch ***********
