Product Description

Product Description

From the bestselling author of the Mrs. Pollifax books comes a new mystery habit to acquire. From the moment Sister John and Sister Hyacinthe reach the old house left to their abbey by a mysterious benefactor, their cloistered world begins to crumble. First, there is the wounded man hiding in the house, then the suitcase stuffed with money sitting at the bottom of the well, not to mention fearful apparitions in the night. Lord only knows what's going on. That is, until the good sisters, armed only with their faith and boundless energy, set things right--even if it means a shocking revelation or two about ghosts, gangsters...and murder.

I absolutly loved this novel! I started out reading Dorothy Gilman's Mrs. Polifax series, but then I discovered that she had some equally well-written books that people don't talk about as much - I was delighted! This book is a mystery with a good storyline, and just the right mix of action and humor! I highly recommend it!!!

If you ever need a really good book to get you through a sleepless night, this is the one! I've been a fan of Dorothy Gilman's books since I was 12-years-old. She writes with a rare wit and an insightful and compassionate understanding of human nature. Her mystery/adventure novels aren't deep or cerebral, but they're not shallow either. Rather, they're absolutely transcendent. Gilman's characters live in a world of love, light and laughter that somehow always prevails, even in the darkest of circumstances. Her protagonists have a powerful humanity that stresses the absurd rather than the tragic. I re-read my dog-eared copy of A Nun In The Closet at least twice a year, and I never fail to laugh and smile as these beloved, familiar characters make their way through an incredible adventure of the sort only Dorothy Gilman can cook up. I doubt anyone could avoid falling in love with two very special nuns from St. Tabitha's as they discover a really wacky and wonderful world outside of cloister. ---Trystan
