This book gives a comprehensive look at the different treatments available for peripheral neuropathy from the patients' perspectives. Its attraction for me is that its "evidence" is based on the patients' experiences; what they felt worked, what side effects they experienced and probably equally important, what was of limited benefit or didn't help at all.
The book is well written (although you can tell from the frequent disclaimers the writer has a legal background). I would expect that someone with the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy would find this a useful book to help promote understanding of the problem and some possible treatment options they could discuss with their doctor/physician.
I must confess I bought this book because my dog has polyneuropathy. She has pain relief medication from the vet for arthritis, but there is little on offer for the polyneuropathy. I thought the book might have some useful information about additional supplements I could try (I was already supplementing with methylcolbalamine and benfotiamine with some success). It provided me with what I was looking for but also gave me a much better insight into issues with nerve function.
