As an added benefit, the TTUSB also includes a 1/8–inch stereo mini jack input connector to facilitate the transfer of cassette tapes (or similar line level sources) to computer files–making this unit the perfect tool for archiving older recordings, regardless of their original format. For the editing of your transferred files, the included Audacity software (PC and Mac compatible) provides a wealth of easy–to–use features. Export your analog music to popular digital formats such as WAV or MP3, and turn your old, forgotten records to the top of your digital music playlist.

Have to agree with a previous reviewer, God knows how someone managed to break the needle and USB cable in 20 minutes of buying it. The needle is no different than any other you would find on a record player and the USB cable the same as the one you would have to connect your printer.

The whole thing took about 5 minutes to set up, it does come complete with cables to plug into the back of your stereo but I couldn't get a very good output from my HiFi system (probably works better with a stack system) Plugging it into the computer though was no problem.

Simply insert the CD that comes with the record player into your computer to download the software you need, plug in the USB cable and that's about it. The sound quality I have found has been excellent and you don't even need decent speakers for your computer (mine are from Asda!)

Very easy to record onto a blank CD and the playback I have found on a half decent system is great.

Only problem I have with this (and why I only give it 4 stars) Is that it comes with no dust cover. Complete pain in the a***!

After trying to record my Vinyl collection using leads from my Stereo to my computer (and not having a lot of success), I saw an advert for this and bought it. It was one of the best purchases I've ever made! Just plug it into a USB port, click on the recording software that comes with it, and turn the turntable on. It's as simple as that. Excellent results that can be saved to several different formats. With a good set of speakers you could do away with the Stereo system and just use your computer.

Within half an hour I'd recorded the first vinyl single to MP3. The software is a freebie that you can update from the internet. That's not a criticism at all. It's damn fine software and better than some of the stuff people are charging for. No, the only criticism is the lack of lid/cover for which it loses a star.

Since I got rid of my decks a while ago I never got rid of my vinyl and decided to get a simple deck to be able to mix my vinyl using ableton live software.

It's just a casual hobby for me so I didn't bother going for the ttx direct drive table and just went for the belt drive instead.

Having had gemini and technics turntables in the past, both sets were direct drive I can only base my experience with this turntable in comparison to what I've used before.

It comes well packaged and was fairly easy to set up. It's quite light compared to what I was used to and you can tell it's a budget product. The assembly of the belt and platter is simple along with the arm and cartridge. You can connect it with either a usb cable to your computer or use the attached cable to connect it to your hifi. There is a switch for a phono connection or an aux which is handy if you don't have an old amplifier. The connected cable is quite short though and you will have to place the turntable close to your hifi if you would be connecting it like this though. I have tested it this way but I use it primarily with the usb connection.

The setup on the computer went flawless, I just installed the driver as I don't want to record my vinyl and got it to run very easily through ableton.

I did need to adjust the gain so that it was slightly louder via the knob provided.

The quality of the cartridge supplied is budget and not for picky audiophiles, but perfect if you're just spinning dance or the like and the highs and lows are fine.

I do miss the real spin down and immediate stop/start from the direct drive tables but that's something I'll just need to adapt to.

No dust cover is supplied and to be honest I won't miss it either.

Does the job for me, connects via usb and I can now play my old vinyl in my mixes.

Great product easy to use with great sound quality.

Don't know how anyone broke a stylus in 20 minutes. However, as this is a Numark you can buy replacements if you do the same, or much more likely when you wear out the original, for around £8 on a host of web-sites. Even a replacement cartridge is only around £12 online.

It is a disadvantage not having a dust cover so I bought an OK one for around £13 from a US supplier on Amazon markets (look under Numark TTUSB / Ion ITTUSB Dust Cover which takes you to a supplier called DigitalDustCovers).

There are a few direct competitors for this (from Stanton, ION, OEM models & even a much pricier, more featured Numark model) but this seemed to best value from websites and once I got it the only complaint was lack of an included dustcover (which all competitors at under £100 seem to suffer from).

I found this turntable very easy to assemble and the Adacity software supplied very straight forward and easy to use. It's been great to go through my old vinyl and rediscover gems that I haven't listened to for ages. I don't know how the previous reviewer manage to break the needle and damage the USB port. The words "heavy" and "handed" spring to mind! This is a great little purchase which will bring you hours of fun.

Needed to convert 500 plus albums looked at alternatives but this seemed the best value. Software easy to use sound quality excellent (would advise changing the felt slip mat to something heaver as platter rang like a bell otherwise). All in all would recommend.
