Product Description

Sometimes the dumbest lawyers in the room choose to be...

They say that all that it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. The Universe which had witnessed much evil, greed and corruption in its time, however, had a different view. In its experience all that was needed to stop evil was a couple of lazy no hopers who happened to get in its selfish way. For them being in the wrong place at the wrong time is exactly what the Universe had meticulously planned to perfection.

Null & Void is the story of two unlikely lawyers, TJ and Harry, and their heroic but idiotic attempts to survive at a law firm called Grahams without selling their souls, getting fired or doing any work. Grahams is the most profitable corporate law firm in the City of London and we join the firm in the last year of its existence as it is guided towards destruction by the Universe unbeknown to all those who work there.

Into this surreal and ruthless world arrives Abby, an idealistic young lawyer, who finds herself hunted by megalomaniac partners, terrorised by a cult of career mad lawyers and working for demanding brain sucking clients. Abby quickly discovers that Grahams is not the well run law firm that it seems and she unwittingly finds herself as the ultimate prize in a contest between the rival gangs of lawyers within.

Null & Void was written to provide a hilarious insight and guide to the legal profession in the City for those thinking of joining or curious about the profession. Also, it is aimed at Kindle readers but there was a very small print run so if you are lucky to own one, well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars The next big thing... 12 Mar 2012
By kmds
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book! It is charming, clever and unique and is a must-read for anyone considering a career in law. I would also recommend it to non-lawyers as it is more than just an account of life at a corporate law firm; it is also a hilarious story of friendship, love and good versus evil. The heroes are engaging and interesting, and you will find yourself delighting in their triumphs, and sympathising with (and sometimes laughing at) their failures. It is genuinely laugh-out-loud and I found it hard to put down. Order it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read! 25 July 2012

I cannot recommend this book highly enough! A must-read for anyone who is going to work or is currently working at a City law firm. The book centres around the lives of two unlikely lawyers, TJ and Harry, and their battle against the Dark Side in the most profitable law firm in the City of London. The plot is fast-paced and contains many laugh-out-loud moments, such as The Hunt of the trainees by the partners at the start. It is a story of good against evil - but who will triumph in the end?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read! 30 May 2012

I really enjoyed Null & Void and the fast paced style of writing. It was a refreshing change from the usual novels about sophisticated law firms and slick lawyers that people from all backgrounds will enjoy. For me it brought back lots of memories from my days at a City law firm. My favourite line was one that rang true rather than being funny (although the book is very funny) and it is about the lawyers going back to work late at night to "make up time to the firm, but which in truth the firm had stolen from them". This line, like many others from the book, are closer to the mark about life at a City law firm and Null & Void should be a recommended read to anyone interested in a career at a law firm.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Beater, the Cheater and the Lover 29 April 2012
By Rob
Format:Kindle Edition
An extremely amusing insight into the world of a professional law firm. Grahams is the fictional law firm that is similar in many ways to law firms across the City of London. Despite this oppressive environment, TJ and Harry make the most of a bad situation and endeavour to have as much fun as possible, often at the expense of the other lawyers at the firm and the partners.

The book is well written and for anybody who has ever practised law in a private practice law firm, you may recognise some of the problems that TJ and Harry encounter. You end up backing TJ, Harry and to a certain extent Abby and laugh at and with them depending on the various situations/mess they manage to get into.

Any undervalued trainee will love this book - the Hunt scene just reflects at times how much you are appreciated within a corporate law firm environment.

I would thoroughly recommend anybody who is or has worked in or about to join a private practice law firm to try this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 15 Mar 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
Both the lawyer and non-lawyer in me were laughing out loud at this novel. Tejura manages to pick up on so many elements of being a young professional in the City that other writers miss. The gripping trials and tribulations of TJ and Harry were only bettered by the brilliant humour with which they were conveyed. I would recommend this text to readers of all ages and backgrounds; anyone who's ever been in love or just had a bad day at work will be falling off their seats with laughter.

Null and Void is a great read - as someone with experience in City law firms I can totally relate to the bizarre and twisted antics of Grahams and the characters of TJ and Harry, a classic comedy double act. The book takes the form of scenes from the life of a law firm and the adventures its two protaganists trying to survive and retain their sanity..There is much poking of fun at what is often seen as a stuffy profession and I loved some of the minor characters such as the "Evil Founder" and the "Son of Evil". While some of the scenes and characters are exaggerated and larger than life the book does have something serious to say about the corporate world which resonates at the end as the fate of the characters are revealed. This book will appeal to those who like memorable characters, great dialog and laugh out loud moments. Should be required reading for those in or planning on a career in law but has wider appeal. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Too funny to put down, even on a beach! 1 Feb 2012
By Jeremy
Format:Kindle Edition
Null & Void is a an absolute must-read for any lawyer or law student, but there is also no reason why non-lawyers should be put off.

Following the careers of the endearing TJ and Harry, the book meanders through life as a City lawyer with the perfect balance between story and humour. The episodic nature of the book ensures that there is no break in the adventure and the comedy comes thick and fast throughout. The jokes are extremely funny and I sincerely enjoyed the variety of humour, which ranges from outrageous slapstick to unparalleled wit.

I found the book near impossible to put down (despite being on holiday!) and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's about to go viral..... 24 Jan 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
This story follows the friendship of TJ and Harry, and how they navigate their way through the dark depths of a City law firm with the 'dark side' watching their every move. Not only is it wildly entertaining, but it also offers tips on how a trainee can survive in their firm.

I particularly enjoyed the scenes on the Northern line during morning rush hour which so vividly portray the joyful experience of commuting life.

The reader is drawn into the absurd lives of TJ and Harry who manage to get involved in ridiculous mischief and adventure, causing disruption and chaos in and around the office, much to the dismay of Partners at the firm.

I thoroughly recommend this book to all. Not only will those within the legal world find this book highly amusing, but Null and Void is an extremely entertaining read for everyone and offers a humorous insight into the workings of a corporate law firm.
