Book Description

Sometimes the dumbest lawyers in the room choose to be...

They say that all that it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. The Universe which had witnessed much evil, greed and corruption in its time, however, had a different view. In its experience all that was needed to stop evil was a couple of lazy no hopers who happened to get in its selfish way. For them being in the wrong place at the wrong time is exactly what the Universe had meticulously planned to perfection.

Null & Void is the story of two unlikely lawyers, TJ and Harry, and their heroic but idiotic attempts to survive at a law firm called Grahams without selling their souls, getting fired or doing any work. Grahams is the most profitable corporate law firm in the City of London and we join the firm in the last year of its existence as it is guided towards destruction by the Universe unbeknown to all those who work there.

Into this surreal and ruthless world arrives Abby, an idealistic young lawyer, who finds herself hunted by megalomaniac partners, terrorised by a cult of career mad lawyers and working for demanding brain sucking clients. Abby quickly discovers that Grahams is not the well run law firm that it seems and she unwittingly finds herself as the ultimate prize in a contest between the rival gangs of lawyers within.

Null & Void was written to provide a hilarious insight and guide to the legal profession in the City for those thinking of joining or curious about the profession. Also, it is aimed at Kindle readers but there was a very small print run so if you are lucky to own one, well done!

More About the Author

Hi, I am Sunit Tejura the author of Null & Void.

I qualified as a lawyer many years ago working in the City of London at various corporate law firms. I was a transactional finance lawyer and worked on my fair share of corporate deals. It was during this time I first came up with the idea of Null & Void, two unlikely lawyers and their misadventures at a high powered law firm. There are many books and TV shows about slick, clever, know-it-all lawyers. However, I thought it would be more interesting (and funnier!) to portray characters who were anything but sophisticated, smart lawyers.

It took many years and much re-writing before Null & Void developed into the book that you are reading today. In fact, it was never meant to be a book but a TV series but that is another story. However, it does explain my writing style, love of dialogue and the layout of the book.

Null & Void may have never been reincarnated as a book if not for the law students who I teach and who seemed awfully keen to hear my ridiculous stories from my law firm days. They frequently asked, "Are your stories for real?" My answer to that is, "You shall have to wait and see."

Null & Void is a lighthearted story that provides an insight into the self important world of corporate law for non-lawyers or new entrants to the legal profession. It contains many truths about the law which lawyers will acknowledge in private. But ultimately it is a story of friendship and hope. In that respect, if there is anything I cherish from my law firm days, it was the colleagues who became close friends and the fun we had. Furthermore, the legal profession has the potential to be a rewarding profession provided you are at the right firm with the right people.

I hope, Null & Void, and my good friends, TJ and Harry, make you smile and laugh. If so, please become a fan on the Facebook page "Null & Void: The Book", write a review on Amazon and tell everyone to buy the book! And if that is not enough you can contact TJ and Harry on

Best Wishes

Sunit Tejura

5.0 out of 5 stars The next big thing... 12 Mar. 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book! It is charming, clever and unique and is a must-read for anyone considering a career in law. I would also recommend it to non-lawyers as it is more than just an account of life at a corporate law firm; it is also a hilarious story of friendship, love and good versus evil. The heroes are engaging and interesting, and you will find yourself delighting in their triumphs, and sympathising with (and sometimes laughing at) their failures. It is genuinely laugh-out-loud and I found it hard to put down. Order it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tejura Triumphs 2 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
As a new entrant into the world of law, this work of literary brilliance has kept me entertained throughout what has become a string of inevitable late nights at my desk. Tejura's satirical tales provide an incisive insight into life as a corporate lawyer through the anecdotes of the protagonist's friendship and their classic fight between good and evil.

An entertaining and addictive read for those already in the legal profession and a great introduction for those, like myself, who are learning their craft. Purchase it now and become wrapped up in the world of TJ and Harry!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top of his game 14 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Not only does the fast-paced action and sharp character development make for a gripping read, Tejura's anecdotal style reminds you that beyond the larger than life (but only just) characters, there lies the real world of corporate law, with all its idiosyncrasies and departmental manoeuvrings. Null & Void captures this perfectly, whilst putting enough tongue in cheek to avoid scaring future law students.

Regardless of whether you are a part of the legal world or not, this book will not fail to enthral you with its clever turn of phrase and tales from inside a firm practising one of the world's oldest professions.

Download now, you wont be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Null & Void 8 Nov. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Having worked in law firms for just over 5 years, there was a lot in this book that I could directly relate to - the working environment and attitudes of partners to their minions being just a couple of examples.

However, even if I'd never set foot in a law firm in my life I believe I would still have found myself caught up in the world of TJ and Harry. The development of their characters over the course of the book was fantastic and I was soon completely immersed in the Grahams world and genuinely interested to see how it would all turn out for them.

The fast-paced writing style and imaginative scene-setting kept the plot moving quickly but never predictably. An extremely well observed tale, told with great humour and warmth.

I would highly recommend this book to anybody, but particularly those who are considering a career in The Law. Read this and know what you're letting yourself in for!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read! 25 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I cannot recommend this book highly enough! A must-read for anyone who is going to work or is currently working at a City law firm. The book centres around the lives of two unlikely lawyers, TJ and Harry, and their battle against the Dark Side in the most profitable law firm in the City of London. The plot is fast-paced and contains many laugh-out-loud moments, such as The Hunt of the trainees by the partners at the start. It is a story of good against evil - but who will triumph in the end?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read! 30 May 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed Null & Void and the fast paced style of writing. It was a refreshing change from the usual novels about sophisticated law firms and slick lawyers that people from all backgrounds will enjoy. For me it brought back lots of memories from my days at a City law firm. My favourite line was one that rang true rather than being funny (although the book is very funny) and it is about the lawyers going back to work late at night to "make up time to the firm, but which in truth the firm had stolen from them". This line, like many others from the book, are closer to the mark about life at a City law firm and Null & Void should be a recommended read to anyone interested in a career at a law firm.
