Product Description

This mini tower fan is contemporary and stylish. It has a small footprint which allows it to be easily positioned in any room (including offices, nurseries, etc). It has a powerful but extremely quiet motor and in operation is unobtrusive. The machine can be set to oscillate up to 70 degrees and features an ioniser option which will redress the balance of ions within the atmosphere thus enhancing the feeling of freshness and well-being. The natural breeze setting allows occasional wafts of breeze to quietly emanate from the fan - ideal for night time use. A stylish and distinctive upright fan to cool your baby's room. A baby-proof design with no exposed blades, this also releases purifying negative ions into the air providing your baby with cleaner, purer air with less static electricity and pollutants. It has 1, 2 and 4-hour timers, a 70 degree oscillation imitating a natural breeze, soft-touch controls and 3 fan speeds (high, medium & low) with LED indicator lights.

Fit for Purpose 30 Jun 2011

Was a little smaller than I had imagined but only meant it fit more neatly into a corner, hardly takes up any room at all. The fan itself is slightly weak but cools my small room perfectly adequately (about 5m square, maybe slightly less) though so far I've tended to leave on the highest setting when I'm in the room, though the others I guess would be fine to keep the room cool for when I get back in. I get the impression it would struggle keeping a larger room cool though. The sleep mode, as I have read from other peoples comments is bizarre, randomly changing speeds, very odd, and no doubt would disrupt sleep, ironically. Having said that the fan is pretty quiet and is quickly forgotten about, it's the intermittency of the sleep mode that would getting annoying. The timer is pretty simple and functional but could do with more than the 1/2/4 hour options but that isn't really a problem. Oscillation works fine. No technical problems with the machine what so ever. As for the ioniser function I can't really comment, I'd read it gets rid of floating dust etc. so I decided to buy something with this function as can get irritated by dust etc (slight allergies) maybe it's something I may notice more in time but immediately there seems to be little impact to me.
Anyway, all in all a good product, suits me fine.

A nice quiet compact fan. Noticing that it has a "sleep mode" and a timer, we bought this fan for use in the bedroom at night. Its small footprint allows it to sit on a windowsill or dressing table. The airflow it generates isn't too strong and the fan and the oscillation are reasonably quiet. However, the sleep mode is bizarre. Instead of steadily reducing the fan speed over the duration set by the timer it constantly keeps changing the fan speed and turning it on and off. It's not a defect, it's what the manual says it should do! Weird, it's far from restful - I think sleep mode is designed to keep you awake, not let you sleep! Also, everytime a button is pressed (e.g. to change fan speed or turn the fan off) the unit makes a loud beep, so it's not easy to change the speed without waking anyone else in the room up. It would have been better if pressing sleep mode turned the beeper off and also gradually turned the fan down over the timer interval set. Anyway, it's possible to use the timer without the sleep mode, so it can be set to turn itself off at night. Overall, we're pleased with it, but it could so easily have been rated excellent if the sleep mode was more sensible.

Worth the price 6 Sep 2011
When this arrived the front panel had come off in the box (not the best first impression), but it did go back on easily and has not come off since. The unit has proved sturdy, well weighted and looks good, but isn't too big.

We have this in our 2.5 year old son's room, either set to turn off using the timer (1, 2 or 4 hours) or running all night, and whilst it isn't exactly silent it doesn't bother him at all. When it's been running all night using the ioniser his room is cool in the morning and the air does feel fresh. As mentioned in other reviews the sleep mode noticeably changes the speed of the fan so we don't use that function.

My only gripe is that the lights on the front are rather bright, but a little black tape has solved that (our son sleeps in the dark).

We've been using this fan for some time now and I believe it to have been a great purchase; exactly what we were looking for.
