I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this album since the taster 'limited edition' 7 inch single of Nobody In The World came out in early November 2010. I have to say It is even better then I had expected too, and I was expecting big... believe me. I only got into Tony after hearing Walk Like A Panther which was produced by The All Seeing I. This album was also produced by Richard Barratt of that Sheffield outfit and Michael Ward, who was an original member of Clock DVA and went on to write and produce Take That of all things. Tony's voice is incredible full stop and here he has been given such a diverse set of songs to really show off his versatility, power and huge range. Long may he keep knocking out great tunes like this. Buy this album and you won't be disappointed.

Donny's favourite son has really surprised and delighted on this album. Twelve original songs all part written by Michael Ward who has clearly arrived as a major songwriter and brilliantly sung by Christie. There is not a dud tune on display here with each cut suiting Christie's voice to a tee and showing what a versatile singer he is as he rocks on the title track 'Now is the time', croons on the powerful 'Steal the sun' and souls it up on 'Nobody in the world' possible the cream of an abundant crop.It has the feel of New York radio some time in the 60s. There are latin arrangements for 'Too much of the sun' and the rollicking finale 'Something better'. Christie has an edge to his voice in places and is in top form. I could single out all the tracks for merit awards but I felt that '7 Hills' a duet with Roisin Murphy was the cut that had the X factor in terms of drama and quality. A fine song that I've been playing constantly since I first heard it. Throughout the enterprise you have a fabulous band playing real instruments. I reckon that this album will sell well beyond Christie's normal fan base. I'd not bought an album of his before and rather like Tom Jones last album 'Praise and Blame' it proves the old timers are able still able to produce memorable quality music.

I am using track 7 as my title review but I also mean it, get this album. This is Tony Christie sounding even better than he did before, there are no Amarillo's, Las Vegas or Don't Go Down To Reno's here instead we have an excellent contemporary album with some tracks that really rock.

If you ever get the chance see this man in concert, he is excellent!

A very impressive cd, good on you Tony!

First Class. Gives Tony Christie a new lease of life. Its fun and retro. Some of it could soundtrack a Goldmember movie (the fab 7 Hills) and some could soundtrack a western-(Longing For You Baby).

Tony Christie - Now's The Time! (Acid Jazz)
Now signed to his perfect label, Tony Christie's return to Vegas-friendly melodramatic song should be celebrated. Especially as the songs selected do all they can to accentuate the things Christie's always done well.

Drama has always been an important component, and songs such as the title track, the nice-n-sleazy futuristic country-lounge of "7 Hills" (a duet with Róisín Murphy) and the revamped theme to "Get Carter" (here entitled "Get Christie" - with lyrics by Jarvis Cocker) all provide theatrical MOR thrills aplenty.

Perhaps the best thing here is the jazzier "Too Much Of The Sun" with Christie playing the part of the old hipster looking back, but still planning new conquests. It's all marvelously camp, but never less than thoroughly enjoyable, and it's an easy album to recommend. 9/10.

The title of the album couldn't be more appropriate - now IS the time to listen to some great music from a superb singer.
The songs are all new and fresh, but have a feeling of the 1960's like Phil Spector's "Wall Of Sound" also did.
Some tracks take a few hearings before they work their way into your brain cells - then won't leave! Hopefully there will be a follow-up (equally as good) next year - eagerly anticipated.

Brilliant album from a versatile singer - a local lad from Conisbrough near Donny. Listen to all the tracks and certainly some of the tracks take me back to the 60's with a northern soul influence LOVE IT!

Just the CD that I had been waiting for. Following Tony's appearance at the Floral Pavilion at New Brighton the CD, added to my collection, reinforced the evening's enjoyment.
