"Now That's What I Call A No. 1" is a three cd collection of twenty songs on each cd from various eras. For example, cd one has music from the 80's, 90's, and present era. Cd two has a medley of music from the 90's and 2000's, while Cd three has music from the 50's through the 90's. The following is a mini-sampler of the eclectic hits in this compilation: "She's The One" by Robbie Williams,"Love Is All Around" by Wet Wet Wet, "West End Girls" by Pet Shop Boys, "Dance With Me Tonight" by Olly Murs, "Don't Look Back In Anger" by Oasis, "Paradise" by Coldplay, "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel and"Good Vibrations" by Beach Boys. At the time of this writing, there is not yet a full track listing at amazon US. Amazon UK and the hmv website are two places to go for browsing the full track listing. "Now That's What I Call A No. 1" is a collection for those who enjoy eclectic music genres from various artists.

Good set of tunes, enjoyed it. There is an manufacturing error though. If you select track 4 CD1, Patience, you will find the beginning few words are missing, where the track mark is in the wrong place. Play the CD from the start and you won't notice though. 5 stars as a set - lost one though for error.

ANOTHER SPLENDID COLLECTION OF FAVOURITE SOUNDS FROM THE 'NOW' SERIES.
Must admit I've only just come across this 3-CD compilation, so my
review is probably 'after the horse has bolted' for many readers.
However....Since the music charts came to be in '1952' there have been
over '1200' Number 1's....I wouldn't like to be the guy that was given
the job of selecting 60 numbers to put on a box-set of number 1's such
as this.....an impossible task, I'd think.
The result, because of a number of reasons including copyright issues of
course, there is many, many major artists and songs that couldn't even
be considered for such a venture......so, there are going to be essential
tracks not included on any such compilation......
On the cover it mentions that there are 31 million sellers on board,
glancing at the selection, I would guess without doing research that
all the tracks on disc three are probably among the 31, today because
of the down-load culture million sellers aren't quite so common as were
they yesteryear.
What is on board, is a pretty good selection of favourites despite
restrictions albums like this have to consider, I'd like to pin-point
one or two great numbers from each disc which, for me, made this a great
purchase....on disc one...'Adele' --'Someone like You'...'Take That' --
'Patience'...'Spice Girls' --'Wannabe'...'Blondie' --'Heart Of Glass'
...'All Saints' --'Never Ever'...'George Michael' --'Careless Whisper'
...and...'The Human League' --'Don't you Want Me'....just a few of the
many great sounds to enjoy on disc one, on disc two...'Rihanna feat. Jay Z.
--'Umbrella'...'Bruno Mars' --'Just the Way you Are'...'Cheryl Cole' --
'Fight for This Love'...

I purchased this for my friend as they requested it for Xmas, but after having seen the track listings, I must admit I would not have been disappointed if it had been the other way round (I say had, I'm assuming Santa is not getting it for me!)

All of the tracks on here are well-known and there is something for everyone. I believe this is not the first "No 1" collection from the "Now" series, but I believe this is the first "No 1" collection of theirs that has hits released before the 80's. I have heard of all of the tracks, which is a good thing as I was born in the 80's and only have a sound knowledge of music from the 80's to the present. If I am being picky, there is a slight overemphasis on songs from 2000 onwards, but there is still plenty from before then and no artist has more than one song on the compilation. I am surprised that they did not group tracks, so the older tracks were on one CD, the newest ones on another etc, but I suppose that could encourage you to listen to each track rather than skip a whole CD.

Overall, it looks to be one of "Now's" best compilations.

Obviously they want to sell lots of copies so this compilation is focused post 2000 however where are the biggest number one acts of all time? Where are The Beatles, Madge and dare I say it Westlife?
Still worth 3 stars because there some good tracks in there despite the disappointment of so many missing.

A good coverage of artist and like all times your hear a CD for the first time, you know, or least I do, and than you will get a feeling about the artists and their work.
I would have liked to have heard more multi tracks from some artists. This just a personal like from me. And perhaps a few more of tracks I already know.
However, overall I found I what too listen to again.
