This album is good, but it's the worst Now album between Now 70-79 and only has 42 songs. Now 76, Now 77, Now 79 and Now 80 are much better.

I loved the songs on the CD before it even arrived. But was gutted when CD1 was completeley scratched. However I sent an email to the sender to let them know of the faulty product. The sender emailed me back and sent me a replacement. Brilliant service and I am a very very happy customer. Good customer service counts for so much you would not believe!! I wiould definately purchase again.

This album in my opinion is a pick of the bunch from the series, the songs are nice and up to date and it is full of recent chart hits. Disc One definetly has the edge over Disc Two (usually always does) and its nice to see the six number one singles spread out equally across the two discs whereas normally disc one always has a greater proportion of number ones. Disc One is the better disc (as i earlier stated) as Disc Two mainly consists of Dance and R&B and not much else, whereas Disc One consists of a greater variety of music, much more to my taste. The one thing i'd like to point out is the that i thought the second half of Disc two is a bit disapointing, songs such as 'Traktor' 'Runaway' 'Like U Like' 'Let It Rain' and 'Blind Faith' couldv'e been missed out for more notable missing songs such as Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way' or maybe even JLS' 'Love You More'.

As always, the album has a few songs that have been around for months now, to name a few:-

Take That - The Flood
Alexis Jordan - Happiness
Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit)
Devlin feat. Yasmin - Runaway

and of course the newer ones...

The Wanted - Gold Forever
Parade - Louder
Noah and the Whale - L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.
Wiz Khalifa - Black and Yellow
Cee-Lo Green - Bright Lights, Bigger City
Katy Perry feat. Kanye West - E.T.

And of course the good songs to name a few:-

Ke$ha - We R Who We R
The Wanted - Gold Forever
JLS feat. Tinie Tempah - Eyes Wide Shut
Taio Cruz feat. Travie McCoy - Higher
Chris Brown - Yeah 3x
Parade - Louder
Olly Murs - Thinking of Me
Avril Lavigne - What the Hell
McFly feat. Taio Cruz - Shine A Light
Noah and the Whale - L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.

Now, i'm an avid fan of the Now series. I really am. I started to think the series was going a bit downhill Now 72 onwards. But i'm really not sure about this. Pretty much all of the songs are manufactured pop stuff. Now, there is a reason behind this - a lot of 9 years olds have been buying this sort of stuff, and it seems the public don't seem to know better. There is only a few good records on this album - and there only one "proper" song on the album (by Noah and the Whale) and i'm not really a fan of that song. There are a few good other songs on the album but they are all pop. I can't blame Ashley Abraham (the compiler of the Now series) for the series' quality decline, but let's keep our fingers-crossed that Now 79 will be better. I would of liked to seen Beady Eye, Green Day, Linkin Park, Radiohead, Gorillaz, Motorhead, Moby, and several more acts on this album - even if they weren't really hits this Spring-round and maybe Virgin EMI didn't have the rights to it anymore. But Now 78 could of been better. It could of been worse. But, i'll say it again - it could of been better. This is just my opinion of cause, but afterall that's what a review is.
