Another great Christmas Now CD,
This review is from: Now That's What I Call Music! 56 (Audio CD)
To add to your collection!Once again, we get the end of year "Now" CD being a real winner with some of the biggest hits of the year. CD 1 contains all the latest and greatest hits, including the mammoth #1's from the Black Eyed Pea's, Beyonce, Kylie, Fatman Scope and the Sugababes. As usual, all the big pop tracks from the last few months make up the rest of the first part of the disc, with stand outs being Rachel Steven's "Sweet Dreams My L.A. Ex" and Liberty X's "Jumpin'". The rest of Disc One is mainly a mixture of reasonable sized chart hits, including many winners like Stacie Orrico, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Emma and Javine. Overall, a solid showing of the biggest hits from the last three months, plus a good, strong mixture of the latest pop songs to touch the chart, none of which are outstandingly horrible or offensive for once! CD 2, as per usual, takes on a more varied approach, mixing dance, rock, r&b and alternative to give a less appealling, but more eclectic listen. Elton is here, as are some catchy cross-over hits from Justin and Robbie. The r&b is quite good qith Ashanti and 50 Cent being both surprisingly good. The dance tracks aren't bad, either, with Lisa Scott Lee being my personal favourite out of the bunch. Not as good as CD 1, but fine for a mixture to put on "random" and have going in the background to hear a wide range of tunes. Overall, if you want a mixture of the latest hits that you would have heard on the radio or seen on the TV, you can't go past Now 56, which comes up trumps yet again.

Now Thats What I call Rubbish,
By Daniel (Newcastle) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Now That's What I Call Music! 56 (Audio CD)
The Now collections appear to be deteriorating at a rapid level.Once a euphoria of popular and ground-breaking music it appears to have sunk to the levels of bubble gum picture perfect pop. A few pearls remain here, but overall its a bit dismal.
