Now That's What I Call Music has become a legend in music compilations, and has been the flagship of pop music since Now 1 back in 1983. Ever since Now has been around, competition to do better has too, and no one has reached the pinacle which is Now. This is a celebration of their 20 years in business, and that's well worth shouting about.

CD 1 is mainly 80s stuff, everything from the energetic Wham! (Wake Me Up Before You Go), Phill Collin's Can't Hurry Love (One of the first things to be on a Now album; right throught to Culture Club, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and the legendary David Bowie with the classic Let's Dance. Other favourites come from Birmingham's UB40, Yazz, Kylie Minogue and Diana Ross.

CD 2 is based on 90s music, with the rave anthem Killer from Adamski, which is an unforgettible song. Other greats come from Beats International with their dubtastic Dub Be Good To Me, and the excellent Gabrielle with Dreams. A mixed bag with dance, rock and regaee.

CD 3 is based around the 00's, which hasn't been given a defined name. Artists include the James Bond influenced Millenium by Robbie Williams; Fatboy Slim's Praise You, a mix of old blues with big beat. This CD celebrates dance, R&B and Pop, oh and boy and girl bands, which really illustrates what the decades have had.

Altogether this is great for people who want to have a party selection, and for fans of the last 3 decades of pop music. Personally this isn't my bag, but I do think this is a great idea and as a child I loved Now albums, and used to enjoy recieving them for Christmas, so I'm sure kids do as well nowadays. The music is catchy, and pop, so it's going to interest a lot of people, not just kids. There's also quite a lot of dance music for people who want something more upbeat and rock for those who like music hard. This is well worth getting hold of for a music lover for Christmas - or just a gift. Excellent value too. All the best from 55 now's on 3 CDs, you can't ask for much more.

Hot on the heals of a sizzling summer comes this superb testimony to British pop music coupled with a reminder of the typically fresh approach that we 80s teenies came to expect from the early days of the ¡¥Now that¡¦s what I call music¡¦ explosion. Our summer has been spent hearing wonderfully 80s esque good old fashioned pop/dance style music and here, the psychology is self evident. When the balmy nights of wild outdoor dancing are brought to a close we now sit, put our feet up in our proverbial armchairs and enjoy the delights of this, one of the finest examples of breadth and diversity in British pop memories in the form of this ¡¥Now decades¡¦ album. Whether music helps you with associations of bygone times, serves to cheer those otherwise cold autumnal nights or simply is a quality form of escapism, this is the album you need. Buy this album and you¡¦l be overtaken by sentimentality you wont even be aware you had. Make sure you dig out your old early 90s and 80s fileofaxes and you may even find yourself climbing the step ladders to retrieve that old ZX Spectrum from the loft. Yes this album is a classic, an all time great, packed with quality music, good productions, beautiful mastering, diverse choice of listening material and all for such a low price. It¡¦s a must for the British 'pop' music lover.
