The Now series continues with yet another classic compilation album you must get your hands on. This album is the perfect stocking filler for upcoming Crimbos and is better than any DJ you can hire for a party! CD1 - The first CD starts off with the king of pop Robbie Williams and, unusually for a Now album, continues with the likes of Bon Jovi and U2. Not that this isn't an improvement - it is. It just shows rock is replacing the cheesy pop of nowadays. David Gray's Babylon is also thrown in for good measure. After the biggest selling single of the year (the heavenly All Saints' Pure Shores), it's all bouncy happy pop with the likes of S Club 7, Britney, and Sam Mumba all appearing. However, the tracklisting improves towards the end with a few corkers. I'm Outta Love by Anastascia is a personal fave, as is the smashing duet between Robbie and Kylie. The first disc finishes off with the beautiful Trouble by the band-of-the-moment Coldplay.
CD2 - The second disc is kicked off with Martine (aka Tiffany) McCutcheon's new single I'm Over You. After a smattering of pop, the big dance anthems follow. Not being a big fan of dance, a few of these are hit-or-miss with me. But, as always, you have to respect Now's diversity. After the club tunes, the extra space is filled up with the likes of Louise (with her catchy single Beautiful Inside) and Mel B (who's latest solo outing Tell Me is included). Gabrielle finishes things off in style with her own brand of Motown inspired sound.
So make the most of these tunes till the spring, when volume 48 will hit the shops!
