This is a wonderful book. I feel like Lauren Bacall is actually speaking to me. She is so honest and unassuming, and it gives a real insight into her life after 'Bogie'.

This book goes beyond the timeframe of the previous book and while it does go over one of the stories again, it's not terribly long and is not really a detriment, just a little hiccup if you've read the first book.

The most powerful parts of the book are when someone close to her passes. She speaks so beautifully and from the heart about them, who they were and what they meant to her. I really get the sense that she valued and felt deeply about the people who were dear to her.

Again she speaks openly and honestly about her children and her relationship with them and their lives. I do value hearing her speak as a mother as other people's autobiographies often only touch on their children or leave them out. That part of their lives and that aspect of their character is lost.

I read both this book and the previous before she passed, I haven't read her last book yet. As silly as it is I'm loathe for there to be an end.

I wanted to like this, because I've always admired Lauren Bacall, but felt I was being preached at and at my age that's the last thing I need, and I personally would not recommend this.

Searingly honest. Well worth reading especially for middle aged and older women, gives a great perspective on life from one of the most beautiful women the world has seen.
