Good service and good quality Lysine. Bought this to treat herpes zoster virus (shingles) after the weeks supply of prescribed anti viral drugs had been taken. Took 1000g tablet 3 times a day for one month. Worked well. Can also been taken for Herpes Simplex virus (cold sores). Lysine works by supressing arginine (another amino acid). The herpes zoster and simplex virus grow and expand by using arginine. Virus can't spread without arginine. Lysine also increase the body's ability to absorb calcium and is also important for formation of collagen (along with proline and vitamin c) which is important for things such as wound healing, pulled muscles and tendons and ligaments.

Now that I'm in dentures, I was getting little sore spots in my mouth from inadvertently biting my lip, tongue or cheek. Very annoying, but a nurse friend suggested I start taking Lysine to help the healing process and it has really helped. It also helps to ward off cold sores.

I get severe cold sores every six months or so. A nurse friend told me to take this when I first have the tingling. I have done so and so far, two years, no cold sores. It works. No need to take it every day, just as you feel the tingling and then a few times a day for three or four days.

250-count bottles are only 500mg!

Be careful - the sellers are advertising this one incorrectly. The 250-count bottles are 500mg pills, not 1000mg, and it doesn't show the difference until you check out. It's definitely not as great a deal as they want you to think.
