3.0 out of 5 stars Compelling Prologue Leads You On 19 Aug 2012
Based on the compelling prologue I want more. What becomes of Zhang? Does she become a victim of "filial piety" or the Asian custom of "face"? Does she live her life for herself now that her mother and siblings are gone?
Mr. Ephraim uses the magic of the storyteller to create what promises to be a page-turner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nourished by that which consumes 13 Nov 2012
I read this book in one evening and would highly recommend it. Although short, it lacked nothing in penmanship and authenticity. Definitely room for a follow up. I'd like to read more stories in this vain. A deep well of material ready to be tapped into.
