This book is a delight. Jane Clarke is a very pragmatic nutritionist who recognises that we all need nourishment, not only for the body but for the soul. She outlines the emotional aspect of eating and instills a desire to find enjoyment in food rather than this relatively new found fear associated with eating "fattening or bad" foods. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys food, wants to enjoy it more or/and has a family to nurture and nourish. Bravo to Jane Clarke.

sound nutrition 27 Feb 2011
By K. Platt TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Hardcover
This is not your usual cookbook/nutrition guide - it is a way of life. Jane explains clearly, in a very readable way everything you need to know about nutrition. It is hard to explain how absolutely necessary this is to know. The huge burden on the NHS is in part owing to the lifestyle some people insist on living - a never-ending round of high fat junk food swallowed down in a hurry with pints or shots of alcohol. Learn exactly what your body needs. With this book you will nourish your soul, well-being and body. There is information for every stage of your life, for counter-acting stress and tiredness. The recipes are hearty and wholesome. Although there are a few photos dotted through the book, the recipes are not photographed. This review first appeared on Karen Platt's book review website.

This book makes such effortless and interesting reading, it really inspires you to eat more healthily. The recipes are easy to follow, tasty and are often something something a bit different. I was however disappointed that quite a few of the recipes are repeated from Jane Clarke's 'Yummy Baby Book'. Having a frequently used copy of 'Yummy Baby' I primarily bought this book to get 'more' of her lovely recipes!
