Unconventional but believable characters. I may be a little in love with Theo myself. Great escapism which made me smile.

For some reason I was a bit reluctant to read this book, but I like Louise Allen and so gave it a go. I was very pleased I did because this is definitely one of her best books for me. I like a strong female lead in my romances but find that often when they're advertised as such they can be quite overbearing and annoying, so I think I was a bit worried that I'd find maude a bit irritating. Instead I really liked her, she is a strong female character but Allen manages to give her enough substance not to become a caricature. Instead she's warm, clever and funny. The relationship that develops between the h&h is very passionate and you see both of them grow and become better people for knowing each other. It was a very enjoyable read and thoroughly reccomended.

A twist on reforming the rake 1 Mar. 2015

Loved Eden Hurst and his transformation from cold bastard to lover (although it could have been a little less abrupt), loved learning about Regency theatres, and enjoyed very much Maude's strong and capable character. I really appreciate how Louise Allen shows a new side of the Regency in each of her books, and how strong her heroines are. The only teeny quibble I have is that Eden should have an Italian accent since he lived in Italy among Italians until he was 14. Otherwise a good ending to the Ravenhursts!

I really enjoyed this book. A dark, mysterious man, (with secrets aplenty) trying to follow a dream of owning his own theater is persued by a woman set on having him. Maude falls in love with Eden on first sight and simply thinks she can have him. To her surprise, it is not that easy. Other Ravenhurst characters that you know from other books also appear in this book.

Eden & Maude 23 Oct. 2009
By Cameo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I felt confident the author would not let us down with Maude's story. It was wonderful. Eden was a great guy, a perfect match for the intelligent, straight-forward, lovely Maude. I liked their special dinner at his theatre.

I'm glad Gareth was in it, wish it could have been more, but I was disappointed Ashe didn't receive more than a few mentions.

You will adore this book; it didn't challenge the mind to figure things out, but it has a great plot and Eden and Maude are one of the finest couples in romance-truly in love, and they work well together.

Maude's father was a delight.

I did think the ending was a little 'campy' for lack of a better word, where the dilemma of Eden's past is settled.
It;s okay but not my favorite 26 Aug. 2013

Loved the rest of the series, but could not finish this one. Just did not get into it. Gave it to a library to sell
